GIMP 3.0.6 Rev.1 Comes ！

本投稿、出遅れていますが、
一応、書き留めて置く事にします。
GIMP 3.0.6 に Rev.1 が登場しましたね。
バグ報告に基づき、訂正されたのですが ... 。


正直に書きます。
そんな処まで フォロー するの！。
此れが、此の更新 に対する 私見 です。

一般的な利用者には 先ず 関連性の無い 修正！。


さて、其の辺りの事を。

少し前の事です。
GIMP 3.0.6 を開くと更新のお知らせが。

バージョン番号は変わらずに、Rev.1 との事。
詰まり、本体には手を入れてい無い。
一般的に、此のケースはライブラリ更新が多いのですが、
今回は少し違う様です。

調べて見ると、
Windows Server 上でインストール出来無い事への対応の様です。
Windows 上で GIMP が利用している Windows API が、
クライアント環境では問題無いものの、
サーバー環境 (Windows Server 2019) で、
該当 API が提供されてい無いバージョンの場合、インストールに失敗していた模様。

Thanks. I will push a revision to fix this

Long history short: GIMP uses some features that requires build 1903 or newer (125e355c). While this is not a problem for regular desktop users, I see now it is for Windows Server where there are not always free upgrade. Sorry for the trouble

DWMWA_USE_IMMERSIVE_DARK_MODE and activeCodePage were introduced on "1903"
The Store version manifest was already using this as minimum version since
day 1, so the commit just extends that minimum version to the Installer.

While is unlikely that users will be affected, we can revert this commit if:
1) LTSC/LTSB users report on tracker that is not possible to install GIMP;
2) we confirm that GIMP works on this machine even with that incompatible API.

Windows Server に GIMP をインストールするって、
えッ！　の印象なのですが、
　　File Server として では無く、
　　Application Server として 機能されているのかしら？。
そんな状況に対して、サポートの手を差し伸べる辺り、
凄いなぁ！　と思うのです。　　:)
